Install Plyloft
Plyloft is a desktop app with the same features on Mac and Windows. It is free for one card at a time.
Download PlyloftBefore you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A Claude or ChatGPT plan. One is enough. Claude Pro reaches its usage limits sooner than Max.
- Everything else (git, Claude Code, Codex, the GitHub CLI) the guided setup installs for you, asking first.
- A GitHub account. Free to create at github.com/signup. You sign in to Plyloft with it, on every plan; it is identity only, with no access to your code or repositories. Repositories on GitHub stay optional: without them, Plyloft works fully local.
Install
Section titled “Install”Needs a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 11 or later.
- Download
Plyloft_…_aarch64.dmg. - Open it and drag Plyloft to Applications.
- Open Plyloft. It is signed and notarized by Apple.
Needs Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- Download
Plyloft_…_x64-setup.exe. - Run it. It installs for your user only, in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plyloft; no administrator password. - Open Plyloft from the Start menu.
Closing the window keeps Plyloft running in the notification area. To quit, use Quit Plyloft or Ctrl Shift Q.
The first time you open it, Set up Plyloft starts.
Updates
Section titled “Updates”Updates install on their own, checked against Plyloft’s signing key; an update that doesn’t match is refused.
- At launch, a new version opens Update available, with Install and relaunch and Later.
- While Plyloft is open, it checks every 30 minutes. A new version shows a row in the sidebar, Plyloft 1.157.0 is available, with Install.
